Procedure No. 440

 

 

                                            POSTING NOTICES, FLYERS AND POSTERS

 

This procedure provides guidance for posting notices, flyers and posters. It further stipulates procedures for maintaining bulletin boards. Overall responsibility for implementation of these procedures rests with the Facilities Director for the College under the supervision of the Vice President of Administrative Services.

 I. General Provisions

A. Posting of temporary notices, flyers or posters is not permitted on any of the following:

1. Wallpapered walls

2. Painted walls (including hallway, classroom, bathroom, or stairwell walls)

3. Doors (except when using notice clips attached to the door

4. Tiled Walls

B. Temporary notices, flyers and posters are posted only on bulletin boards (except as noted in C, below). Temporary notices attached to glass surfaces must be typewritten or computer generated, have straight edges, contain the signature of the President or one of the Vice Presidents of the College and must contain an expiration date.

 II.College Bulletin Boards

A. Designated User Bulletin Boards. The following bulletin boards have been designated for the use of specific College offices, departments, or organizations. These bulletin boards are used only for College-related notices. Permission of the designated user must be obtained prior to posting any notices, flyers or posters:

1. Diversity Alliance, first floor Administration Building

2. Advising Center, first floor Administration Building, adjacent to Advising Office

3. Financial Aid, first floor Administration Building, across from Financial Aid Office

4. Facilities Department, first floor Administration Building

5. Fiscal Affairs, Administration Building room 204 and outside of the Cashier’s Office

6. Personnel Office, Administration Building room 201

7. Black Student Alliance, first floor Classroom Building, main entrance

8. Phi Theta Kappa, first floor Classroom Building, main entrance

9. Instructional Unit, first floor Classroom Building, main entrance

10. Accounting & Computers Division, first floor Classroom Building

 11. Writing Studio, first floor Classroom Building

 12. Faculty, first floor Classroom Building, room 113

 13. Learning Resource Center first floor Classroom Building, stairwell

 14. Student Activities & Job/Career Search Center, first floor Classroom Building, stairwell

 15. Humanities and Business Divisions, second floor Classroom Building

 16. Humanities Division, second floor Classroom Building, adjacent to room 208B

 17. Business Division, second floor Classroom Building, adjacent to room 208D

 18. Faculty, second floor Classroom Building room 210

 19. Humanities Division, second floor Classroom Building room 210

 20. Science, Math, and Social Science Divisions, third floor Classroom Building

 21. Social Science Division, third floor Classroom Building, adjacent to room 308B

 22. Faculty, third floor Classroom Building room 310

 23. Art Department, Fine Arts Building adjacent to room 101

 24. Music Department, Fine Arts Building adjacent to room 102

 25. Drama Department, Fine Arts Building adjacent to room 104

 26. Student Activities, first floor Student Centre, adjacent to the student lounge

 27. Student Senate, first floor Student Centre

 28. Learning Resource Center, Student Centre, second floor

 29. Job/Career Search Center, Student Centre, second floor landing

    B. Responsibility for maintaining the bulletin boards listed above rests with the designated user. Notices, flyers, or posters not related to the designated user may be removed by the Facilities Director of the College.

III. General Student Bulletin Boards

1. Information of a personal nature may be posted on the General Student bulletin boards located between the first and second floor and between the second and third floor of the Classroom Building and adjacent to the Television Lounge in the Student Centre.

 2. Responsibility for maintaining these bulletin boards rests with the Facilities Director of the College.

 3. The Facilities Director determines removal dates for each item. Generally, the following terms apply:

 4. Job listings remain until the specified deadline for applications.

 5. Information items remain as long as they are timely.

 6. Other items without expiration dates are removed at the start of each month.

 IV. Class Cancellations and Temporary Room Change Notices

These notices are posted and removed by the Divisional Administrative Assistants for their respective departments.
