The Building Maintenance Division is one of the smallest units within the Facilities Department, yet it is charged with solving some of our most challenging assignments. This division operates and maintains the three buildings on the CentreTech campus, the Original Aurora Center, and provides limited support for CCA functions at the Higher Education and Advanced Technology (HEAT) Center at Lowry. Chuck Socienski operates and maintains the Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems at the CentreTech campus. Chuck has a variety of skills in electrical, plumbing, painting, and equipment maintenance trades. Mike Davis, a recent addition to the division is a licensed Master Electrician, came to the College from the Colorado Department of Transportation. "A jack of all trades and Master of one," Mike has been involved with the conceptualization, design, fabrication and/or construction of a number of projects on both the CentreTech and Lowry campuses.
The maintenance staff is on duty Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, to respond
to problems and emergencies. In the event of an emergency at other times, contact the
Security Office at ext. 4727 -- who will dispatch help.
Chuck Socienski, HVAC Technician, joined the Community College of Aurora
in May of 1991, as the college prepared to move onto the CentreTech campus. He assumed the
supervision of the division in 1998.
